This final year project showcases a curated 3D collection of archaeological artifacts from the University of Ibadan’s Department of Archaeology and Anthropology. Using augmented reality, it aims to preserve these ancient treasures for future generations and enhance accessibility through a digital experience.
Wooden Head Carving
This head carving was rescued from a king’s palace. It is still being researched and yet to be classified.
Wooden Figurine
This wooden figurine ressembles a large bearded man sitting. It is uniquely carved as all the features; hands, legs, beard intersect
Figurine Carving
This is a figurine carving aswelll, its a carving of a man holding a cock. This artifact is both aesthetic and functional. The cock is split in the middle, serving as a bowl with a cover.
Terracota Head
This terracotta is from the federal capital territory Abuja. The figurine depicts the image of a female based on its attributes.
Wooden Pillar Head
This wooden pillar head originates from Oyo Ile, the historical capital of the once-powerful Oyo Empire in Nigeria. The empire flourished between the 14th and 19th centuries, leaving behind a rich legacy of art and cultural artifacts.
Elephant Lower Jaw
This elephant lower jaw originated from Nigeria’s Middle Belt region in 1966. Donated by the family of David Olatunde-Agbeja in 1966.

This small pot, possibly from the old Oyo Empire in Nigeria, has a burnished finish. It is burnishined.
